                                                     Overview of Web based technology


Application development can be classified in to 2 types 

           1.Desktop application
           2.Web based application
The application development in the form of exe to run with in a system is called "Desktop Application" Examples school application[school.exe] calc.exe,notepad.exe etc..

The application development towards web server is called web based application.
              This web application is called "Website" example yahoo sites ,Google sites, etc...


Microsoft .net providing more then 25 languages for desktop and web based application development.

Web based application development will be based on 4 things:
   1.HTML
   2.Client side scripting
   3.Web Server
   4.Server side scripting



We will start with HTML first so that we will get some idea about the web application and about the static webpages and dynamic webpages.
